The Chinook Mk5 Can-Am car just restored here at Autotune returned to its home country of Canada recently, to take part in the VARAC Vintage Race Festival held at the beautiful Mosport circuit.

Car owner Ray Boissoneau was having his first drive of his newly rebuilt car and thoroughly enjoyed it.  “What you guys have done is fantastic, the car looks amazing”.  After getting to know the car through several practice sessions and Race One, Ray finished up winning the Can-Am class in Race Two, a thoroughly successful first outing.

The car attracted a great deal of attention over the two days, with many Canadians thrilled to see one of their own returning to the track.  Several of the cars original builders came along to see her, including Rudy Fejer, who along with his brother George, built the car back in 1967.  Also there to see the Chinook run was original crew member Ed Butt.
